Erasmus+ deadlines for schools: from application to your training course
Every year Erasmus+ KA1 funding for school, VET and adult education staff comes down to one date in the Programme Guide. This page tracks that date, tells you what to do in the weeks before it, and can remind you by email six weeks and one week before. Every date links to the official source.
Where we are: the 2026 call is closed. KA122 Round 1 and KA121 closed on 19 February 2026, the accreditation call (KA120) on 29 September 2026, and KA122 Round 2, where a National Agency opened it, on 1 October 2026. The 2027 deadlines will be published in the Programme Guide 2027. For reference, the 2026 Programme Guide and call came out on 12 November 2025.

Round 1 · KA122 short-term projects and KA121 accredited projects
2027 date not published yet. In 2026 it was 19 February at 12:00 midday Brussels time.
When is the Erasmus+ application deadline for schools?
For staff mobility in school education, KA1 has one main deadline a year, the same for every National Agency. In the 2026 call it was 19 February at 12:00 midday Brussels time, for both short-term projects (KA122) and accredited projects (KA121). Some National Agencies also opened a second KA122 round, with a deadline on 1 October. The 2027 dates will be published in the Programme Guide 2027, which isn’t out yet.
The same dates applied to VET and adult education. Each National Agency announces on its own website whether it opens Round 2, so check yours before you plan around it.
KA122, KA121 and accreditation: which deadline is yours?
Three routes, three different dates. In each card, the 2026 date is the one set by the Programme Guide 2026; the 2027 date will be added here when the new guide is out.

Erasmus+ Teacher Academies are a different action (European partnerships of teacher education and training providers), with their own call and deadline. They aren’t training courses for individual teachers.
What should you do 12, 8, 4 and 1 weeks before the deadline?
A KA122 application is scored on relevance (20 points), project design (50) and follow-up (30), and it needs at least 60 points and half of each criterion to pass (Programme Guide 2026, p. 115). That takes time. Count back from the deadline:
Decide what the project is for
- Check that your organisation has an Organisation ID (OID). If it doesn’t, register in the Organisation Registration System: it’s needed before you can apply (p. 413).
- Agree the two or three needs the project answers, with your head teacher. Everything in the application follows from them.
- Check your limit: an organisation can receive up to three KA122 grants in any five consecutive call years (p. 114).
Draft the application
- Write the first draft of the three scored sections, starting from your needs and objectives.
- Plan who travels, to which activity, and how you’ll choose participants in a fair and transparent way.
- Plan the follow-up now: how colleagues will use what participants bring back. It’s 30 of the 100 points.
Complete the form
- Fill in the activities and budget in the official form. A maximum of three people from the same organisation can be funded on the same course, and each person attends one course per project (p. 107).
- Have a colleague who didn’t write it read the whole application: experts read it as one document.
- Find out who signs the declaration on honour for your organisation (p. 414) and when they’re available.
Check and submit early
- Final read against the award criteria. Check that the numbers match across sections.
- Get the declaration on honour signed and submit a few days before the deadline, not at 11:55 on the day.
- Save the submission confirmation and a PDF of the application.
What happens after the deadline?
For KA1 projects managed by National Agencies, the award decision and the grant agreement come, indicatively, four months after the deadline (Programme Guide 2026, p. 435). Round 1 projects then start between 1 June and 31 December. Once the result is in, here’s what to do in your first 90 days after approval.
Choose your course before the result
You can pre-book an ELA course while you wait. If your project isn’t approved, you cancel for free. You’ll have a course and dates to point to while you write, and no risk if the answer is no.
