The ELA Days format

What makes these 5 days different

The ELA Days are Erasmus Learning Academy’s 5-day Erasmus+ courses for teachers and education staff. Each theme runs only once per school year and brings together a larger European group than a regular course, built around four things you won’t find elsewhere in our catalogue.

Sessions split by your sector

Preschool, primary, secondary and adult education each have their own track: every example and activity is about the learners you actually teach.

Study visits inside local schools

A full morning in schools and education centres, divided by sector, talking with the teachers and school leaders who run them.

Networking built into the course

Colleagues from across Europe, a networking dinner, a networking lunch and two guided walking tours.

Five days, not seven

Easier to fit into your school calendar. Training in the morning, afternoons free to explore or keep talking with colleagues.

Who it’s for

Built around the age group you work with

For teachers, support and special-needs teachers, school leaders, Erasmus+ coordinators and adult educators working with mixed-ability groups. Italy has brought all learners into mainstream classrooms for nearly 50 years: here you see what works, what is still hard, and what you can adapt to your own context.

Early childhood staff

Visit kindergartens, learn play-based inclusion strategies and meet early intervention specialists.

Primary staff

Observe inclusive classrooms, discover cooperative learning techniques and effective differentiation methods.

Secondary staff

See how Italian secondary schools include older students, and discuss transition support and assessment.

Adult education staff

Meet social inclusion centres and explore second-chance education and community integration.

It’s probably not the right fit if…

FAQ

Questions before you book

How are the ELA Days different from your regular courses?
Regular courses run all year in small groups, on the dates you choose. The ELA Days are a handful of themed 5-day courses a year: a larger European group, parallel tracks by educational level and study visits to local schools, with the same Erasmus+ documents and certificate. If the dates don’t fit you, our course catalogue has the same themes all year round.
Is it fully covered by my Erasmus+ grant?
It’s designed to be. The course fee support of Erasmus+ (€80 per course day, so €400 for 5 days) covers the course fee; the rest of the package fits within the individual support for your days abroad. Exact rates depend on your country and are set by your National Agency — see the packages above for the breakdown.
I work in preschool or adult education — is there content for me?
Yes. Key sessions and the study visits are split by educational level — preschool, primary, secondary and adult education — so you work with colleagues who teach the same age group.
My English is B1 — will I manage?
Yes. B1 is enough: most participants are non-native speakers, the pace leaves room for questions, and group work means colleagues help each other.
I’m coming on my own. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Networking activities start on the first morning and continue at the Monday dinner, so you don’t need to know anyone before you arrive.
Can several colleagues from my school join?
Yes — tell us how many in the pre-registration form. Places are limited per edition, so register together to be sure you all get one.
Can I pre-register now and confirm later?
Yes. Pre-registration holds your place without any payment. Your place is confirmed when your school signs the Partnership Agreement.
What if I have to cancel?
You get a full refund if you cancel up to 30 days before the start of the edition.
Is there an official certificate?
Yes — an Erasmus+ compliant certificate with the learning outcomes and every element your National Agency needs, plus the Europass Mobility document when your sending organisation opts in.
