The new edition of the course took place in Tenerife from 05/10/2025 to 11/10/2025. Participants joined from various parts of Europe, bringing together a rich diversity of experiences and perspectives. From Italy, FRANCESCO represented IISS Antonio Pesenti, and ANNA came from IIS Capirola – Leno (BS). The Czech Republic was represented by JITKA and HANA From ZŠ a MŠ Ludgeřovice. From Estonia, HANNA participated on behalf of Tallinna Mustamäe Riigigümnaasium, while Poland was represented by MAGDALENA L. and MAGDALENA J. from the Fundacja Educational Trip.
Thanks to various studies and research, numerous tools are now available for use in educational settings. Approaches such as project-based learning, non-formal education, outdoor education, and the use of ICT offer valuable opportunities that can be combined with traditional teaching methods.
The course begins by examining the growing importance of key skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. This initial session focused on how innovative teaching methodologies—particularly experiential et inquiry-based learning—can support students in developing these essential competencies. Participants also reflected on the evolving role of educators as facilitators and mentors who create learning environments that inspire curiosity, questioning, and innovation.
Thursday’s session was dedicated to integrating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools into teaching to boost student engagement. In today’s digital era, traditional lectures can often feel disconnected from learners’ realities. ICT resources—such as interactive presentations, online quizzes, and educational games—can make lessons more dynamic, participatory, and relevant to students’ everyday experiences.
Finally, the course concluded on Friday with a practical activity that brought together everything participants had learned throughout the week — a city-wide treasure hunt in Tenerife, supported by an ICT tool. This engaging experience demonstrated how outdoor education can be combined with technology to create meaningful and immersive learning opportunities. By taking learning beyond the classroom, outdoor education encourages learners to interact with their environment and apply their knowledge in authentic situations. The treasure hunt showcased the advantages of this approach, such as improved problem-solving, teamwork, and a stronger connection to the learning content, while also allowing participants to discover and enjoy the beautiful city of Tenerife.
By the end of the course, participants will have gained a solid understanding of how to apply innovative teaching methods in their own classrooms. These strategies will not only equip students with the skills needed for the future but also foster a more dynamic and meaningful learning experience.
