Overview

What is an Erasmus+ ICT teacher training course?

An Erasmus+ ICT teacher training course is a fully-funded professional development programme, delivered abroad under Erasmus+ Key Action 1 (KA1), that helps teachers and education staff bring ICT, new technologies and AI into their teaching. New tools appear every month and the real challenge is adopting them without getting lost in the complexity: at a high-quality Erasmus+ course you don’t sit through theory — you try the tools yourself, see what fits your subject and age group, and leave with a toolkit you can use as soon as you’re back.

Below you’ll find who it’s for, what you’ll be able to do, how the week is run, why teachers rate ELA 5/5, and how your Erasmus+ grant covers it all. With ELA you get a genuine guarantee of quality — full compliance with Erasmus+ quality standards, real networking with peers, and end-to-end support from enrolment to the dissemination of your project — plus skills you learn in a practical way and can use as soon as you’re back.

Who it’s for

Who it’s for — and who it’s not

This course is designed for teachers and trainers of every level (pre-school, primary, secondary, adult and higher education), and educational and non-teaching staff (administrative staff, school managers, headmasters) across school, VET and adult education — including NGOs and local authorities. Participants come from all Erasmus+ eligible countries and should already hold an Erasmus+ grant for KA1. It’s recommended for intermediate computer users, and a single session may bring together education staff from different school levels — part of what makes the networking so valuable.

It’s probably not the right fit if…

What you’ll learn

ICT skills for teachers: what you’ll be able to do after the course

Concrete ICT skills for teachers, adapted to your level and subject — not a one-size-fits-all lecture.

Use AI & digital tools with confidence

Pick the best apps, platforms and AI solutions for educators — and judge which ones fit your classroom.

Create content & assess in real time

Build engaging multimedia and check students’ understanding live with digital tools.

Innovate & build a European network

Apply new methods to integrate ICT, exchange best practices and connect with teachers across Europe.

Dates & locations

Pick your Erasmus+ date and European city

Courses run throughout the year in Bologna, Palermo, Tenerife, Athens, Porto and Zagreb — so you can match your mobility to your school calendar and choose the destination you’ll love.

We keep each session small on purpose — limited places per date, so the group stays collaborative and the trainer can follow everyone. Some dates below may already be fully booked: once a session fills up we can’t add participants. If a date is confirmed or open for enrolment, pre-register now to hold your place while your paperwork is finalised — pre-registration doesn’t commit you, it just keeps your seat until you confirm.

A confirmed session is guaranteed to run: it is never cancelled.

All courses are hosted and delivered by local Academies accredited by Erasmus Learning Academy and legally established in the country where the course takes place, in full compliance with Erasmus+ requirements and quality standards.

“We worked on different apps and new technologies to be used in education, getting acquainted and working confidently with them. After the theoretical part we always put the apps into practice and built presentations, exercises and interactive materials for class. I highly recommend this course to anybody wanting to learn more about digital technologies in education, or who feels insecure about digitalisation.”

Netherlands

Erasmus+ funding & costs

How Erasmus+ funding works — and what it costs

Erasmus+ is an EU programme that covers 100% of your teacher training abroad. Here’s how the grant works, and how our prices are built to fit within it.

What is Erasmus+ KA1?
Key Action 1 (KA1) is the “Learning Mobility of Individuals” strand of Erasmus+. It funds teachers and school staff to train abroad — your school holds (or applies for) a grant, and you use it to attend a course like this one.
How much money does Erasmus+ give?
The grant is built from three parts: a travel allowance (based on distance), individual support for daily subsistence (based on the destination country), and course fee support (the Erasmus+ standard rate of €80 per course day). Exact rates are published by your National Agency.
Who is eligible?
Teachers, trainers, headmasters and other staff of education organisations in Erasmus+ programme and partner countries. You should hold — or be applying for — a KA1 grant for teacher training.
How does the application work?
Your school (or an accredited consortium) applies to your National Agency. Once the grant is approved you choose a course, city and dates — and we help with the documents your project needs, from the invitation letter to the certificates.
Is it really free?
Yes: the Erasmus+ grant is designed to cover all costs, including travel, course fee, board and lodging. Both our packages, Standard and Essential, are built to fit within the Erasmus+ grant, so if you hold an Erasmus+ grant there’s nothing to pay out of your own pocket.

What it costs

Teachers, trainers, headmasters and any other staff of education organisations are eligible for an Erasmus+ grant that covers all the costs of attending our training courses — travel, board and lodging, cultural activities and all fees. Our courses are tailored to be fully funded by Erasmus+, with different options to ensure the best comfort and quality at a price that stays within the grant.

We offer our courses in two packages. The Standard Package brings together training and accommodation in the same hotel, with breakfast, coffee breaks, networking meals (full board in Bologna) and cultural visits provided by us and fully covered by Erasmus+ funding — you just book your international flights. If you prefer to book your own room, the Essential Package (no accommodation) includes everything except accommodation and meals. We recommend the Standard Package: staying where the course takes place makes logistics, networking with fellow participants, safety and timing much easier.

The Standard Package costs EUR 1,415 in Bologna, EUR 1,235 in Palermo and Zagreb, EUR 1,265 in Tenerife, EUR 1,215 in Athens and EUR 1,335 in Porto. This price includes the course fee, certification and support fee, accommodation in a single room, breakfast, 2 coffee breaks per day, full board (in Bologna) or 3 networking meals (in the other locations), two walking tours in the venue’s city and a sum-up dissemination video.

You can stay in a single or a double room — whichever you prefer — and we can also arrange accommodation for people or relatives accompanying the participants.

For Erasmus+ coordinators

Sending several colleagues? One contact, every document.

You coordinate your school’s Erasmus+ mobility on top of a full timetable. We take the paperwork, the logistics and the follow-up off your desk — for one teacher or for your whole staff.

  • One dedicated contact person for your whole group, from enrolment to dissemination
  • Every document your project needs: Mobility Agreements, invitation letters, detailed programme, certificates, Europass Mobility on request — and anything else your National Agency asks for
  • Several sessions in the same week, so more colleagues can go at the same time — up to 3 per organisation in each session, so every group stays genuinely international
  • Waiting for project approval? Pre-register now and cancel at no cost if your project is not approved
  • Free rescheduling up to two months before the course, a flexibility many providers don’t offer

Email us about your group → (info@erasmuslearningacademy.eu)

Good to know

Practical details

Language & accessibility

Held in English (B1+ recommended). Most participants are non-native speakers; clear language, written materials and peer support make everything accessible.

Food, accommodation & accompanying people

We cater to specific dietary needs (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, lactose-free and more). We can also arrange accommodation for accompanying people and family members — spots are limited, so pre-register early to secure yours.

How many funding days to request

We recommend requesting 9 days of individual support — 7 for the course plus 2 for travel — so you can plan your stay with more flexibility and enjoy every cultural activity, from the first day to the last.

Cancellation & reschedule

Choose our fully refundable option and we refund everything if you cancel. With the standard option you’re still covered: free rescheduling at any time for force majeure (serious illness, family emergencies), and no fee for reschedules requested at least 2 months before the course.

About this ICT course

Is this ICT course for teachers right for you?

What level of ICT skills do I need?
The course is designed for intermediate computer users. If you’re just starting out with digital tools, begin with Making the most of new technologies, apps and social media in the classroom; if you already work with AI at an advanced level, choose our Artificial Intelligence Course for Teachers: Advanced Tools and Apps.
Is it suitable for primary, secondary and adult education teachers?
Yes. Teachers and staff from every level join this course — from pre-school to adult and higher education. Activities are adapted to your subject and age group, and working alongside colleagues from other school levels is part of what makes the exchange so valuable.
Will I use AI tools in class after the course?
Yes — AI is part of the week, not a side topic. You’ll work hands-on with the assistants teachers actually use, such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, alongside Google’s tools for education: for lesson planning, creating materials, self-study recaps and adaptive language learning. You leave with materials you can reuse in your own lessons.
FAQ

Your Erasmus+ course questions, answered

The course & your English
How do I know this is a high-quality Erasmus+ programme?
Erasmus Learning Academy is accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education, ISO 9001 certified and fully compliant with Erasmus+ quality standards — and every course is designed for real, practical impact.
My English is B1 — will I manage?
Absolutely. Most participants are non-native speakers. Clear language, written materials and peer support make everything accessible.
Is the course practical or theoretical?
Highly practical. Most of the week is hands-on work, group activities and best-practice exchange — you build materials you can take straight back to your classroom.
Can I bring a partner or family member, and do you handle special diets?
Yes to both. We can arrange accommodation for accompanying people, and we cater to vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and lactose-free needs — just tell us.
Documents, accreditation & your National Agency
Is there an official certificate?
Yes — an official, Erasmus+ compliant certificate. It’s in line with the Erasmus+ Quality Standards and includes the participant’s name, a short description of the course and its learning outcomes, the dates, the venue, and the names of the course provider and instructor(s). We also always issue the Europass Mobility document at no extra cost whenever your sending organisation opts into the Europass Mobility scheme — it’s the sending organisation’s choice, and we fully support it.
What about paperwork and documents?
We prepare everything for you: invitation letter, Mobility Agreement, attendance certificate and administrative guidance — so the bureaucracy never becomes your problem.
Do I need a visa or an invitation letter?
All our course venues are in the Schengen area, so citizens of EU and Schengen countries don’t need a visa. If you need a Schengen visa, we provide an official invitation letter for your visa application: just let us know when you pre-register. Apply early, and check requirements and processing times with the consulate of the country where your course takes place.
Do you have any accreditation?
Yes — we hold an Erasmus+ accreditation (2021–2027), we are accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education for teacher training and we are ISO 9001 certified for training and education services. Italian teachers can also use the Carta del Docente to fund their mobilities.
What makes a course certificate valid for Erasmus+?
To count towards your mobility, the certificate must include the participant’s name, a short description of the course and its learning outcomes, the dates, the venue, and the names of the course provider and instructor(s). The use of European recognition instruments such as Europass is strongly recommended. Be careful with certificates that leave out the learning outcomes or the course description — they may not be accepted by your National Agency. Every ELA certificate includes all the required elements and follows the Erasmus+ Quality Standards.
How can I be sure a course is really Erasmus+ compliant?
Choose a provider that knows the Erasmus+ Quality Standards and can explain how it meets them — not every provider can. Good signs: recognised accreditations (Erasmus+, Ministry of Education, ISO 9001), a certificate that includes every required element (see above), and transparency about how the course is delivered and disseminated. ELA is an accredited Erasmus+ provider and every course is built around these standards.
Is the course provider legally established in the country where the course takes place?
Yes. For each destination, a locally established academy is responsible for hosting and delivering the training, in full compliance with Erasmus+ requirements (which require the hosting organisation to be legally based in the host country). You’ll find each academy’s full details — legal name, address, OID and everything you need for your Erasmus+ documents and Mobility Tool — on the dedicated page of each location. See all our locations →
What if my National Agency asks for specific extra documents?
Just ask. We’ve worked with National Agencies across the EU plus Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Serbia and Türkiye. Common requests we handle: a detailed daily programme with hours and learning outcomes, trainer CVs, proof of accreditation, and country-specific certificate templates — usually within 2 working days, with a multilingual team.
Erasmus+ funding
Are your courses fully funded by Erasmus+?
Yes — our courses are designed to be paid for entirely by your Erasmus+ grant. Course fee, accommodation, the meals included in your city and cultural activities are structured to fit within the KA1 funding, so most participants pay nothing out of their own pocket beyond what the grant covers. The Erasmus+ funding & costs section of this page explains how the grant is calculated.
Why choose the Standard Package?
Because it removes the hassle. With training and accommodation in the same hotel, networking meals (full board in Bologna) and cultural activities organised by us, you don’t chase receipts or juggle separate bookings — and you stay comfortably within your Erasmus+ budget. You just book your flights; we organise the course, your stay and the paperwork. If you prefer to book your own room, the Essential Package (no accommodation) includes everything except accommodation and meals.
Booking & pre-registration
Can I pre-register now and confirm later?
Yes. Pre-registration only reserves your place — final confirmation happens later, after a partnership agreement between us and your institution. It doesn’t commit you to anything.
Can I book accommodation through you?
Yes, with the Standard Package: a single or double room in the hotel where the course takes place, with breakfast, two coffee breaks a day and networking meals (full board in Bologna). Spots are limited and subject to availability, so pre-register early.
What’s your cancellation and reschedule policy?
Plans change — so you choose how protected you want to be. With our fully refundable option, if you cancel we refund everything. If you prefer the standard option, our policy still protects you:
  • Force majeure (serious illness, family emergencies): free rescheduling, whatever the timing
  • Cancellation at least 4 weeks before the course: 80% refund · at least 7 days before: 50% refund
  • Rescheduling (requested by email) at least 2 months before: free · at least 15 days before: 20% fee · at least 48 hours before: 40% fee
Full terms are in your contract — just ask us for the fully refundable option when you register.
Can a colleague take my place if I can’t travel?
Plans change. If the colleague you registered can’t travel, another colleague can take the place: changing the participant’s name is always free, even without notice.
Do you provide a signed contract and an invoice?
Yes — fully Erasmus+ compliant. On registration you receive a signed contract and a proforma invoice for your school’s budget approval and Erasmus+ documentation, plus an attendance certificate on completion and the Europass Mobility document when your sending organisation opts in. We also offer fully refundable packages — ask us and we’ll find the option that fits your mobility.
