For many professionals working in education, English is no longer just a school subject — it has become an essential tool for communication, cooperation, and professional growth. Whether supporting international projects, engaging with colleagues from other countries, or accessing new educational resources, a practical knowledge of English opens doors. The course was created to provide participants with accessible, real-life language skills that can be directly applied in school environments and everyday situations.
The training took place in Atény z 15/02/2026 to 21/02/2026 and brought together participants from different European schools. Milagros and Mar from Escola Ventura Gassol in Spain joined Barbara, Elena, Katy from ISTITUTO OMNICOMPRENSIVO PRIMO LEVI in Italy. Despite coming from diverse educational backgrounds, they shared a common objective: to strengthen their English in a practical, supportive, and confidence-building environment.
At the beginning of the course, the focus was on building a comfortable atmosphere and encouraging communication. Participants introduced themselves through interactive name activities and discussed practical arrangements. They worked on personal identity topics such as nationality and professional roles, while revising key grammar structures including the verb to be, the present simple, possessive determiners, and vocabulary related to jobs. These foundations helped everyone gain confidence in speaking about who they are and what they do.
As the course progressed, attention turned to daily routines and habits. Through structured speaking activities, participants practiced using adverbs of frequency and expanded their understanding of the present simple in negative and interrogative forms. Travel and luggage provided an engaging theme for exploring the past simple tense, including common irregular verbs. Sharing personal travel experiences allowed participants to apply grammar in meaningful conversations and short written tasks.
The programme then explored topics connected to dreams, future plans, and time expressions. Another important part of the training focused on hobbies and everyday life situations, including food, cooking, and supermarket shopping. Practical tasks encouraged participants to build vocabulary and practise forming WH-questions. Interactive activities helped reinforce communication skills in realistic contexts, making language learning dynamic and relevant.

The training concluded with a final sharing session, where participants reflected on their progress and demonstrated their improved confidence in English communication, followed by a certificate ceremony celebrating their achievements.
By the end of the programme, participants had strengthened their understanding of essential grammar structures — from present and past forms to future expressions — while expanding their vocabulary in practical areas of everyday and professional life. More importantly, they experienced how collaborative learning can build both language competence and intercultural connections. For education staff, this course represents more than language practice; it is a step toward greater international cooperation and lifelong professional development.
