Spanish Intensive Language Program for Educators

As the world becomes more interconnected, the ability to communicate in multiple languages is increasingly valuable in the education sector. Spanish, being the second most widely spoken language in the world by native speakers, is not only a tool for personal growth but also a bridge for building intercultural relationships. This training course was designed to respond to the growing need for education staff to develop basic Spanish skills, enabling them to engage more effectively in international mobility, Erasmus+ projects, intercultural exchanges, and professional collaboration with Spanish-speaking countries.

Our course “Intensive Spanish Language Course for education staff​” took place in Tenerife de 17/05/2026 till 23/05/2026, welcoming a group of education professionals from Italy and Czech Republic. The participants included Giovanna Aiello, Filippo Canzoneri and Rita Giuseppa Scardamaglia from UniTre Bagheria, and Klára Schopfová from Základní škola a mateřská škola Jeseník, Fučíkova 312.

The course was designed to build group cohesion and establish a comfortable learning environment, starting with activities focused on Spanish greetings, introductions, and the exchange of basic personal information. Participants immediately began practicing speaking skills using different verb tenses, laying the essential grammatical and vocabulary groundwork for the week ahead.

A core principle of the course was interactive learning, with every session integrating all four language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The curriculum introduced tenses – present, past, and future – incrementally, ensuring learners built a solid grammatical foundation. This structure, combined with engaging and relevant topics, kept participants motivated.

This course offers a structured, engaging, and practical method for participants to significantly enhance their Spanish language proficiency. Its design emphasizes structured progression, with each day systematically building upon the previous one to reinforce and expand learned language skills. Practical application is a key focus, with activities like introductions, discussing daily routines, and talking about travel providing real-life contexts for language use. Furthermore, skill integration – the simultaneous practice of speaking, listening, reading, and writing – guarantees comprehensive language development.
