Enhancing Creativity, Critical Thinking and Innovation through Erasmus+ Mobility

The Erasmus+ mobility programme in Tenerife offered participants much more than a traditional training experience. It provided a unique opportunity to reflect, grow professionally, and connect with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds. By stepping outside the classroom, participants explored new ideas, shared good practices, and returned home inspired to rethink learning environments through a renewed and innovative perspective.

This mobility took place in Teneriffa von 10/05/2026 to 16/05/2026. The training activities were conducted in English, Italian, and Spanish, creating a multilingual and inclusive learning environment. Surrounded by the island’s extraordinary natural landscapes and cultural richness. Martina, Noemi, Mattia, Silvia, Giulia, Salvatore, Kalifa, Simona, Liboria, Anna, Martina, Maria, Giuseppa, Erika and Caterina from Cooperativa sociale Al reves in Italy, experienced a learning journey where the environment itself became an integral part of the educational process, stimulating curiosity, creativity, and personal development.

The course was designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to become proactive agents of change in a rapidly evolving world. Particular attention was given to the development of 21st-century skills, emphasizing innovation, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving. Participants deepened their understanding of the differences between formal, non-formal, and informal learning, while exploring the fundamental principles of non-formal education and their application in diverse educational contexts.

Throughout the mobility, participants took part in a variety of learning experiences based on non-formal and experiential education methodologies. The activities encouraged active participation, collaboration, reflection, and the exchange of ideas among participants from different countries and professional backgrounds. Through individual and group work, they explored innovative approaches to learning and teaching while developing practical competences that can be transferred to their own educational and professional settings.

A significant focus of the programme was placed on creativity and critical thinking. Participants explored strategies for fostering innovation, improving problem-solving skills, and encouraging active engagement in learning processes. They also reflected on their own educational practices and discussed ways to create more inclusive, motivating, and learner-centred environments.

The mobility further addressed the importance of emotional intelligence and socio-emotional learning. Participants examined the role of empathy, communication, emotional awareness, and well-being in both personal and professional contexts. These topics contributed to a deeper understanding of how positive relationships and emotional competences can support effective learning and collaboration.

The programme also highlighted the value of learning beyond the traditional classroom. By engaging with different cultural perspectives and educational approaches, participants gained a broader understanding of the opportunities offered by international cooperation and lifelong learning. The mobility fostered intercultural dialogue, mutual understanding, and the creation of meaningful professional connections across Europe.

As the training experience came to an end, participants returned home enriched with new knowledge, practical insights, and valuable international experiences. They left Tenerife with enhanced competences in creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and emotional intelligence, as well as renewed motivation to apply innovative methodologies in their own contexts.

The Erasmus+ mobility experience represented not only a valuable professional development opportunity but also an inspiring journey of personal growth, intercultural exchange, and lifelong learning.
