Cud nauki: jak czerpać z włoskich doświadczeń najlepsze metody edukacji przedszkolnej

The world of early childhood education is constantly evolving, and staying current with the latest approaches and trends is essential for any preschool professional. Our latest edition of “The best for preschool teachers” took place in Palermo z 24/05/2026 to 30/05/2026, bringing together educators from across Europe for a week of discovery, reflection and hands-on learning.

The participants came from across Europe, with Anneth and Sara E. from Granitens Förskola in in Sweden, Sara O. from Harbo Förskola in Sweden, Verena from Berufskolleg Viersen in Germany.

The course began with some practical activities to break the ice, share expectations and contributions and discuss about the best practices linked to preschool pedagogy. The teachers discovered how does the Italian school system work and how does it implement inkluzja with children with special needs.

Moving on discovering the Italian preschool experience, we had the pleasure of discovering the Montessori method by going through the theory, discussing and visiting a school. The group therefore delved into the Montessori method, a philosophy and pedagogy developed by Maria Montessori in the early 19th century. A presentation of pictures of Montessori authentic environment and materials was the starting point for discovering the method in a practical and experiential way. Moreover, the group visited the school Istituto Montessori, which applies the Montessori method in Palermo.

The next two days featured two more visits, to the public school Istituto Comprensivo Statale “Rosario Livatino” in Ficarazzi, and nursery and primary school Istituto Minutoli in Palermo. At Istituto Minutoli, participants also had the chance to discover an inspiring example of edukacja na świeżym powietrzu in action.
Doing several school visits allowed the teachers to understand in an experimental way how schools can work in Italy. The group they were able to observe how different the environments, materials, and even the children’s behaviour can be depending on the educational context.

The week wrapped up with an exploration of edukacja pozaformalna oraz socio emotional learning in preschool, and the Reggio Emilia approach. Teachers had a chance to learn more about the history, materials, projects and experiences, which make the Reggio Emilia approach unique in the world.

By Saturday, it was time to head home, suitcases a little heavier with new ideas, inspiration and memories to bring back to their classrooms!
