The group brought together Minou and Shohreh from Volksschule Schönau in Austria, Jasmina and Tamara from OŠ Ljudski vrt Ptuj in Slovenia, and Thomas and David from Oberschule an der Koblenzerstraße in Germany. Over the week, they explored how identity, communication, and cultural awareness can make teaching more inclusive and effective for all learners.
Tuesday’s focus on identity encouraged participants to look inward. Using visual prompts and personal reflection, they examined how their own cultural backgrounds influence their teaching approaches. These conversations opened space for empatia oraz ciekawość — key ingredients for inclusive classrooms.
Midweek, attention turned to stereotypes, prejudices, and discrimination. Participants engaged in storytelling oraz case-based discussions that illustrated how small assumptions can grow into barriers. Together they explored ways to challenge bias and model critical thinking in front of their students.
The final day took learning beyond the classroom. Activities designed around communication, teamwork, oraz observation encouraged participants to put intercultural skills into action in an outdoor setting. The combination of movement, conversation, and shared problem-solving brought the week to a close on a high note of cooperation and mutual understanding.
