The course brought together a small but motivated international group. Jana from Katholische Marienschule Potsdam in Germany joined the programme alongside two participants from Lithuania, Daiva and Lineta from Silale Adult School. Completing the team was Marie Luise from 117. Grundschule Dresden Ludwig Reichenbach in Germany. Throughout the week they shared experiences from different educational systems and contexts, turning the course into a genuine exchange of ideas.
Tuesday shifted the focus to non formal education. Activities were hands-on and group-based, showing how active methods can increase motivation and participation. The participants experienced learning through role play, simulations, and problem solving tasks. These practical exercises demonstrated how alternative methods can develop social skills, strengthen group dynamics, and give learners more ownership of the learning process.
On Wednesday the classroom moved outside. The outdoor education module brought theory into real life settings around Porto. Participants completed team challenges and observation tasks in urban spaces, discovering how outdoor learning can awaken curiosity and support multiple learning styles. The experience highlighted that meaningful lessons do not always require textbooks or projectors. Sometimes they need movement, real contexts, and fresh air.
Friday brought a playful atmosphere. The focus was on grywalizacja and the meaningful use of digital activities. Participants tried out challenges such as a digital escape room, team competitions based on logic and problem solving, and interactive quizzes. Beyond the fun, the session underlined how game elements can boost attention, persistence, oraz uczestnictwo when used with clear learning goals.
By the end of the week, the group had explored a wide range of teaching approaches, each offering useful ways to improve classroom learning. More than tools and strategies, they left Porto with a renewed sense of professional energy. The course created a space for reflection, współpraca, oraz creativity. Participants returned to their schools not only with new methods but with the confidence to try them and adapt them to their own contexts. Innovation, after all, starts with willingness to learn.
