Did you know that weaving yoga into daily routines can greatly improve overall well-being and reduce stress? Just imagine beginning the day with calm, focus, and balance—something yoga can naturally bring into our lives. From a deep breath to a gentle stretch or a mindful pause, yoga offers simple yet powerful tools to restore energy and clarity. When embraced in schools, it not only nurtures individual well-being but also helps create a more positive, harmonious, and supportive learning environment.

The latest edition of the course “
Joga dla nauczycieli i pracowników szkoły: poprawa samopoczucia w klasie” took place in Tenerife  from 17/08/2025 to 23/08/2025. Participants were: Liran from ROC Aventus in Netherlands,Mihaela and Marija from III. gimnazija Maribor in Slovenia, Laura and Fabiola from Liceo PL Nervi-Ferrari in Italy, Inga from Schiffer-Berufskolleg Rhein in Deutschland, Christine from OGEC LPP LE REBOURS in France, Ilona from Budapest XIII. Kerületi Hunyadi Mátyás Általános Iskola in Hungary, Paola and Silvia  from Istituto Comprensivo Castelnuovo Luni Ortonovo we Włoszech.
The course began with meditation practices that helped participants connect with body, emotions, and mind, alongside interactive activities such as eye-contact exercises and introducing colleagues to one another.

They were introduced to yoga basics, including the eight limbs of yoga, its short history, and practiced Sun Salutations as a foundation. Breathing techniques (Pranayama) were explored in both theory and practice, complemented by yoga sequences, body scan meditations, and reflections on emotional intelligence and stress management.

As the week progressed, participants experienced dynamic meditations, games to recall yoga poses, and mindfulness exercises centered on the five senses. They expanded their practice by adding more advanced postures such as Crow Pose and Headstand, while also experiencing mindful relaxation. Attention was given to the importance of mindset, creating a personal “Stress Toolbox,” and practicing techniques for stress management such as savoring the senses and labeling emotions. Chair yoga, backbends, and meditations like the “Happy Place” supported both physical and emotional well-being.

Communication was also emphasized through mindful listening, effective feedback, and collaborative exercises. Participants practiced affirmations and empowering poses such as the “Superhero Pose,” revisited breathing practices, repeated yoga sequences, and worked in pairs to deepen trust. The program concluded with visualization meditations and the creation of personal mandalas, symbolizing their journey and growth throughout the course.
By the end of the week, participants had gained practical tools to enrich both personal well-being and professional practice. They left not only with renewed energy and inspiration but also with classroom-ready routines to boost focus, foster trust, reduce stress, and create more mindful, balanced learning environments. Yoga, as they discovered, holds the power to bring lasting transformation—cultivating schools where teachers, students, and staff can truly thrive together.
