This is particularly important given the state of climate change and the fact that a generation raised outdoors is more likely to care for and respect the environment and our planet. They are also more adept at overcoming challenges, learning to manage all situations. <strong>Outdoor education<\/strong> is an <strong>innovative teaching<\/strong> approach that offers the opportunity to address two of the most pressing issues facing today&#8217;s society: providing a high-quality, lifelong education and <strong>raising awareness <\/strong>of the importance of preserving our planet in the face of the daunting threat of climate change.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new edition of the course \u201c<strong>Outdoor education for preschool teachers<\/strong>\u201d took place in Palermo from <strong>01\/03\/2026 to 06\/03\/2026<\/strong>. The participants came from all across Europe, with Sabina, Rita and Sabina from Siuntion Kunta in Finland , Gabriela, Dana and Eva from Matersk\u00e1 \u0161kola Budovate\u013esk\u00e1 8 Pre\u0161ov in Slovakia&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-slider-3df7e695\" class=\"wp-block-themeisle-blocks-slider glide\" data-per-view=\"1\" data-gap=\"0\" data-peek=\"0\" data-autoplay=\"true\" data-height=\"600px\" data-hide-arrows=\"false\"><div class=\"glide__track\" data-glide-el=\"track\"><div class=\"glide__slides\"><div class=\"glide__bullet\" data-glide-dir=\"=5\"><\/button><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting from the definition of <strong>Outdoor Education,<\/strong> we analyzed and discussed the benefits of Outdoor Education and the participants had the chance to share their own experience with teaching in nature. Because this course was specifically addressed to<strong> preschool teachers, <\/strong>the participants also learnt about the Italian education system and shared a presentation of their own schools in order to compare their different methods and approaches.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants were able to visit the <strong>Montessori and Minutoli <\/strong>schools on two different days, which gave them the opportunity to see how actually work the Italian schools they had previously learned about.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the lesson days took place at Villa Trabia. The activities allowed teachers to experiment with new activities to offer their students. Participants also learned the importance of planning <strong>outdoor<\/strong> spaces, knowing the selected area in advance to minimize risks. They had the opportunity to practice in an outdoor space and identify the most<strong> interesting areas,<\/strong> potentially dangerous areas, play and rest areas, and so on.
