The new edition of the course \u201c<\/span>Special needs and inclusive education, the Italian and Spanish experience of overcoming segregation<\/span>\u201d took place in Tenerife\u00a0 from 28\/09\/2025 to 04\/10\/2025. The participants came from Italy, Clementina,Anna,Samuela,Sabrina,Maria,Federica,Monica,Patrizia from <\/span>Istituto Comprensivo Cermenate (Co).\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The course began with a school presentation and an introduction to the concept of inclusion in education. Inclusive education focuses on creating an environment where every student\u2014regardless of background or ability\u2014feels valued, supported, and able to thrive. Educators are encouraged to adopt strategies that recognize individual differences and promote personalized pathways to success. Collaboration and openness to innovative methods are essential to building an inclusive learning environment that ensures equal opportunities for all.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Next, participants explored the <\/span>spanish model of inclusive education,<\/span> the\u00a0 participants saw how <\/span>co-teaching<\/span> is applied in classrooms to meet the diverse needs of students. The role of <\/span>support teachers<\/span> in this system was also highlighted, showing how important teamwork is for creating an inclusive learning environment.<\/span><\/span>
One of the key topics of the course was the concept of <\/span>membership<\/span> and the fundamental human need to belong. During this session, participants discussed how crucial it is for all students\u2014especially those with special educational needs\u2014to feel part of the school community. A strong sense of belonging helps students stay motivated, engaged, and confident in their learning journey.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The course concluded with a session on inclusive teaching methods and the integration of ICT tools.
