In today\u2019s classrooms, keeping students <\/span>interested<\/span> and <\/span>engaged<\/span> can be challenging. Using <\/span>ICT tools like apps <\/span>and<\/span> web platforms<\/span> is essential for teachers to connect with students and share knowledge effectively. These technologies offer new and exciting ways to make learning <\/span>interactive<\/span> and fun, helping to keep students focused and motivated.<\/span><\/span>

The new edition of the course \u201c<\/span>Integrating ICT, new technologies and AI tools into teaching and education<\/span>\u201d took place in Bologna from 19\/05\/2024 to 25\/05\/2024. The participants came from all across Europe, with Thomas, Ulrich, Marija, Tobias and Miriam\u00a0from\u00a0<\/span>Bayerischer Volkshochschulverbande.V<\/span>.in Germany, Savas, Adem, Huseyin, Emrah and Mehmet\u00a0from\u00a0<\/span>Hocacihan Ortaokulu <\/span>in Turkey, Joost andB j\u00f8rn\u00a0from\u00a0<\/span>H\u00f8nefossvidereg\u00e5ende <\/span>in Norway and Eridiana\u00a0from\u00a0<\/span>MIKC Daugavpils Dizaina un m\u0101kslasvidusskola “Saules skola” <\/span>in Latvia.<\/span><\/span>

\u200bDuring the course, participants explored a variety of technological tools and learned how to integrate them into their teaching methods. We started with the latest trends in educational technology, focusing on virtual whiteboards and collaborative platforms. <\/span>Practical sessions<\/span> included turning their devices into virtual whiteboards with AI-enhanced elements and using collaborative walls for sharing and storing ideas.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Participants also practiced designing interactive presentations with real-time audience interaction and using ICT tools for more effective classroom management. They also experimented with creating digital learning group games and AI-driven self-study options. These exercises showed them how these tools can make lessons more <\/span>engaging <\/span>and <\/span>dynamic<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>

In addition, they learned to create multimedia content, such as presentations, social media graphics and posters, using AI-powered tools. These activities aim at encouraging students to be more creative. Video presentations were emphasized as a powerful way to capture students\u2019 attention and energize the classroom environment.<\/span><\/span>

An important topic of the course was <\/span>Artificial Intelligence<\/span>. The group became familiar with ChatGPT and other AI-powered tools explored during the week, acquiring insights into the seven elements of a good prompt. Through an interesting discussion, they analysed all the potential, the benefits but also the traps of using <\/span>AI tools<\/span> without sufficient knowledge of them.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>

This course offered participants the chance to exchange experiences and insights, while learning collaboratively. They departed with a lot of new skills in interactive learning and a variety of technological tools to implement in their teaching. These new strategies will undoubtedly enhance students’ creativity, engagement and motivation!<\/span><\/span>
