\u00a0It is not always easy to keep the classroom <\/span>motivated, engaged and enthusiastic <\/span>when it comes to teaching. This is when <\/span>ICT tools such as apps and web platforms<\/span> become essential in helping teachers to communicate and transfer knowledge while also maintaining their students\u2019 full attention. In order to provide our children a different and non-traditional form of learning and keep them involved, it is essential that we understand interactive learning today.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The new edition of the course \u201c<\/span>Integrating ICT and new technologies into teaching and education<\/span>\u200b\u201d took place in Bologna from 24\/10\/2022 to 29\/10\/2022. The participants came from all across Europe, with Florentina Ruiu, Ana Stanciu, Dina Daniela Oan\u00e3 from <\/span>\u0218coala Gimnazial\u0103 Nr. 113 <\/span>in Romania, Julio R\u00edos Cosgaya from <\/span>O\u00dc Hispaania Maja<\/span> in Estonia, Paul Hutter from <\/span>Gymnasium Schrobenhausen <\/span>in Germany, Irene Pascual Corpas, Cristina Mu\u00f1oz Caro, Elena Mar\u00eda Calahorro Mesa, Inmaculada Jim\u00e9nez Brajones, and Carolina Aparicio G\u00f3mez from <\/span>Centro de Profesorado (CEP) Algeciras-La L\u00ednea<\/span> in Spain, Sonia Fern\u00e1ndez Rodr\u00edguez, Ruth Ma Rodr\u00edguez Fern\u00e1ndez from <\/span>CEIP JOS\u00c9 PAY\u00c1N GARRIDO<\/span> in Spain, Jel\u0327ena Mironova, Darja Spasjonova from <\/span>Liepaja Liedaga secondary school<\/span> in Latvia, Pavlo Popyk from <\/span>Heuresis<\/span> in Poland, and Miguel Diaz from <\/span>Red Cross Universit<\/span>y in Sweden.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

During this course the participants learnt how to use a vast range of technological tools and to put them into use by integrating it into their teaching methods.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

First of all they had a look at the most simple and easy <\/span>tools\u00a0to edit pictures and videos<\/span> that are very effective when it comes to teaching. These technologies can be used for a range of tasks, including creating multimedia content, teaching new material or summarizing existing material, and encouraging students to produce original content in order to spark their creativity. In particular, video presentations are a huge aid in motivating pupils and grabbing their attention.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, participants also learnt how to <\/span>create a website<\/span> following a few easy steps. Thanks to this course this group was able to experiment with an easy drag and drop tool that could help them create a website for their schools.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

During these past two years traditional education had to leave space for virtual<\/span> lessons and online classes.<\/span> Therefore it was inevitable for this course to also explore the applications useful to hold an online class such as a <\/span>virtual whiteboard<\/span> that can create engaging and captivating online lessons and also collaborative learning experiences.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, the participants had the chance to dive into the technological world with plenty of <\/span>practical activities<\/span> such as presentations, virtual quizzes, learning how to create engaging social media content, using tools dedicated to organizing graphics, posters and collages and much more.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>
This course allowed participants to confront themselves with each other and learn from their shared experiences. The participants left this course with a new knowledge of <\/span>interactive learning<\/span> and a new set of tools, ready to use them in their classrooms. There is no doubt that this approach will increase the students\u2019 creativity, engagement, attention and motivation and help transform learning into a fun and dynamic activity!
