In today\u2019s interconnected world, language learning is essential for fostering communication and cultural understanding.\u00a0Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)<\/strong>\u00a0has emerged as a powerful approach that blends language acquisition with subject-specific education. By integrating ICT, game-based tools, multimedia content creation, and interactive activities, teachers are better equipped to promote linguistic diversity and prepare students for active participation as European citizens.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A new edition of the course \u201cContent and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) course for teachers\u201d took place in Palermo from 26\/10\/2024 to 02\/11\/2024. The participants came from two European countries, with\u00a0Biljana Mijajlovi\u0107<\/strong>and\u00a0Tanja Radi\u0161i\u0107<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0Third Belgrade Gymnasium<\/strong>\u00a0in Serbia and participants coming from two different Finnish institutions:\u00a0Markus Lampainen<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Maarit Vainio<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0Salo \/ School of Hermanni<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Terese Herrg\u00e5rd-Backlund\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Anna-Karin Jansson<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0Novia University of Applied Sciences.\u00a0<\/strong>

\u200bThe CLIL course started with an\u00a0interactive brainstorming session<\/strong>, where participants were encouraged to share their current practices and prior experiences with CLIL. This collaborative approach helped create an engaging atmosphere for exchanging ideas and insights. The course then engaged with the\u00a0theoretical foundations of CLIL<\/strong>, exploring the importance of teaching subject content through a second language. A key focus was the role of the teacher in supporting\u00a0language integration<\/strong>, fostering a learning environment that enhances both content understanding and language development.<\/div>\n
\u200bThe course offered valuable insights into\u00a0effective lesson planning<\/strong>\u00a0within the CLIL context. Participants explored practical tips and strategies for designing engaging and purposeful CLIL lessons. Through sharing resources and experiences, they began to create their own lesson plans, which is the groundwork for future activities.<\/div>\n

Participants examined popular ICT tools in education, with a focus on those most relevant to their individual needs and interests. They had the opportunity to practice with these tools, creating educational games and interactive presentations to seamlessly incorporate into their lesson plans.<\/div>\n
\u200bIn order to explore effective strategies for encouraging\u00a0collaboration and peer learning<\/strong>\u00a0or supporting language use, the participants were introduced to\u00a0experiential learning activities<\/strong>\u00a0designed to enrich CLIL lessons. Through hands-on activities, they gained valuable insights into creating an interactive and immersive learning environment.<\/div>\n
