Keeping students motivated, engaged, and enthusiastic can be a challenge in today’s classrooms. That’s where ICT tools—such as apps and web platforms–play a vital role. These tools support teachers in delivering content more effectively while capturing students’ attention. In a world where digital interaction is second nature, it’s essential to embrace interactive learning methods that offer students a fresh, non-traditional approach—one that keeps them curious, involved, and eager to learn.
The new edition of the course “Integrating ICT and new technologies into teaching and education​” took place in Tenerife  from 27/07/2025 to 02/08/2025. The participants came from all across Europe, with  Annalisa Brancaccio and Salvatore Aiello and Chiara Meriani from Liceo G. De Bottis in Italy  , Rossana Di Battista  and Roberta Manente and Tommaso Zacchei and  Danilo Cecchini and  Luigi Giordano and  Francesca De Virgiliis Di Sabato and  Patricia Brizzi from IIS di poppa rozzi in Italy, Cristiana Felicelli and Alessia Gagliano and Chiara Rinaldi , Sarah Rückl from Pädagogische Hochschule Stefan Zweig Salzburg in Austria ,Maria Florencia Gonzalez from FOS Meran in Italy, Angelika Hoff from Seminar für Ausbildung und Fortbildung der Lehrkräfte Gymnasium  in Germany.
During the course, participants explored a wide range of technological tools and learned how to effectively integrate them into their teaching practices.
​To start, participants explored simple yet effective tools for editing images and videos—valuable resources for enhancing the teaching and learning experience. These tools can be used in various ways: creating multimedia content, introducing new topics, summarizing past lessons, or encouraging students to produce their own projects as a way to spark creativity. Video presentations, in particular, proved to be powerful tools for capturing students’ attention and boosting classroom energy.
In addition, participants learned how to create a website using a few simple steps. Throughout the course, they experimented with an intuitive drag-and-drop tool, gaining hands-on experience in building a website—an accessible and practical option for developing online spaces for their schools.
Over the past two years, traditional education has made way for virtual lessons and online classrooms. As a result, this course also focused on exploring tools essential for effective online teaching. Participants were introduced to applications like virtual whiteboards, which help create interactive and engaging lessons while also supporting collaborative learning in a digital environment.
​Moreover, participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of technology through a variety of hands-on activities. These included creating presentations, participating in virtual quizzes, designing engaging social media content, and using tools for organizing graphics, posters, collages, and more. Each activity offered practical experience with digital tools that can enhance both teaching and learning.
This course allowed participants to confront themselves with each other and learn from their shared experiences. The participants left this course with a new knowledge of interactive learning and a new set of tools, ready to use them in their classrooms. There is no doubt that this approach will increase the students’ creativity, engagement, attention and motivation and help transform learning into a fun and dynamic activity!
