On the first day, participants reflected on the meaning of the word stress through group brainstorming. They identified different stressors, which can stem from various sources such as physical conditions, the environment, family, or work. At the same time, they recognized that small amounts of stress can sometimes be beneficial, helping us stay motivated, meet deadlines, or achieve goals. For this reason, participants learned to distinguish between distress (negative stress) and eustress (positive stress).
During the course, participants explored a range of cognitive and behavioral strategies to cope with stressful situations in the workplace. Through group activities, they strengthened their planning and time management skills, while also practicing practical techniques such as breathing exercises, muscle relaxation, and visualization to better manage stress and maintain balance.
Another key topic addressed during the course was empathy, a fundamental skill for managing conflicts effectively. Showing an empathic response can sometimes be challenging, especially when we have not experienced the same emotions as the person in front of us. However, empathy can be practiced and developed. Participants learned how to recognize and cultivate genuine empathy, while also distinguishing it from other types of responses.

Effective communication is essential for resolving conflicts. In a recent activity, participants explored different communication styles and engaged in a group exercise where each member contributed to resolving a conflict. While resolving conflicts can be challenging, this exercise showed that such situations also present valuable opportunities for growth and learning. This approach can be applied not only in the workplace but also in classroom settings.
