Learning English language and building bridges

Nowadays, the English language plays a prominent role on a global scale. It is widely used to foster connections between people from different countries and to facilitate communication across diverse fields such as business, academic research, fashion, and technology. For this reason, developing strong English skills has become increasingly important for education professionals.

The new edition of the course “Intermediate English Language Course for education staff“ took place in Tenerife from 22/03/2026  to 28/03/2026. We had the pleasure to welcome a group composed by Pascale and Laurie from Lycée Pilote Innovant International, Cécile from EREA JEAN BART in France. Rosa, Paola and Lilly from IC Livatino Ficarazzi in Italy. Małgorzata, Anna and Joanna from Zespól Szkolno – Przedszkolny w Ostródzie in Poland.

Throughout the week, participants engaged in a wide range of activities designed to develop the five key language skills: use of English, listening, reading, writing, and speaking. The course began with introductory sessions, where participants presented themselves, described their professional roles, and conducted interviews to get to know each other better, immediately creating a friendly and collaborative atmosphere.

Since learning a language requires constant practice, each day was carefully structured with dynamic lessons and interactive tasks. Participants reviewed important grammar topics such as verb tenses, phrasal verbs, and adverbs, while also expanding their vocabulary. Particular attention was given to speaking skills: participants learned how to talk about everyday topics, including hobbies, free-time activities, daily routines, schedules, and personal interests. They also practiced discussing travel experiences, future plans, and the importance of learning foreign languages.

To make the learning process more engaging and effective, a variety of teaching methods were used, including games, quizzes, reading activities, role-plays, and real-life simulations. Continuous formative assessment helped participants monitor their progress and build confidence in using English in different contexts.

Beyond the classroom, participants also had the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Tenerife. The program included two guided sightseeing tours of the city center, as well as group lunches and dinners in traditional Canarian restaurants, allowing participants to experience the local culture while continuing to practice English in informal settings.

Participants showed great enthusiasm and courage in all speaking activities. During breaks and social moments, they took every opportunity to communicate in English, exchange ideas, and share best practices from their schools and countries. This contributed to creating a rich multicultural environment and a strong sense of group cohesion.

It was an extremely productive and rewarding week. We hope that participants will continue their English learning journey with the same motivation and positive attitude, and that they will carry with them the valuable professional and cultural experiences gained during this course.
