With the rise of recent global epidemic, the educational systems have transformed the major proportion of teaching from traditional to social media and technology driven models. We live in the age of society highly driven by technology and social media consumption and as a matter of fact the educational institutions could bring positives out of it in educational institutions if used correctly. Adapting to change is tough at times, however with focused trainings and strategies one could adapt to transformation in the advanced and modernized teaching and learning methods. 

Keeping all aforementioned areas in mind, the new session of the training course “Making the most of new technologies, apps and social media in the classroom” was organized in Palermo from the 31/07/2022 to the 06/08/2022, and dedicated professionals took place from across the Europe. Judit joined us from Fényi Gyula Jezsuita Gimnázium, Kollégium és Óvoda, Hungary; Dora and Ivana took part from Elementary school Stjepana Cvrkovića Stari Mikanovci, Croatia;  Hajnalka from Gyöngyösi Egressy Béni Két Tanítási Nyelvű Általános Iskola, Hungary ; Edyta, Katarzyna, Aneta, Joanna and Ewa came from CLIX Liceum Ogólnokształcące, Poland; and  Mariola, Nina and Grzegorz from Zs nr 3 im. Jana III Sobieskiego, Poland.

The weeklong training started with an introductory day followed by learning and understanding various tools on the creation of multimedia content inside the classrooms. A variety of tools through which could amplify the classroom’s motivation and success in a positive way were discussed with participants

A part of training was focused on various social media platforms and how they could be integrated into classrooms by teachers and students. Also, tools related to virtual representation of thinking and learning were discussed along with creating good content for social media.
Participants were also trained on the various platforms related to data collection, information and resource sharing, and receiving in a fun, interactive and time saving way. Moreover, E-platforms related to taking quizzes and exams were discussed in detail with its various segmentations.

Amongst many education tools and E-platforms discovered, we also discussed and practiced on portals relating to make studies more interactive by running games, quizzes in real time contributing to a competitive and interactive classroom environment for students and teachers.
Beside learning about various social media and ICT tools, our training focused upon various team building, interactive sessions throughout the week along with the tailored and personalized guidance with the help of instructor available.

To make the participants’ stay worth, various cultural activities were arranged around the historical center of Palermo along with the tasting of authentic Sicilian cuisine.
Learning with the help of social media and ICT tools could result in empowering better and personalized achievements in educational institutions contributing to better learning environment. We hope that our participants took home the essentials of it and utilize it in their respective institutions.
