From Scrolling to Studying: Using EdTech to Captivate Today’s Learners

Keeping students genuinely motivated, focused, and excited to learn is one of the toughest challenges educators face today. This is where modern ICT tools—from interactive apps to dynamic web platforms—become game-changers. By bridging traditional instruction with rich, digital experiences, these technologies help teachers communicate complex ideas while effortlessly holding the room’s attention. Embracing interactive learning is no longer just an optional extra; it is an essential strategy for delivering fresh, non-traditional instruction that keeps today’s tech-savvy learners truly engaged.

The course “Integrating ICT, new technologies and AI tools into teaching and education” took place in Tenerife from 21/09/26 till 26/09/26. The participants came from all across Europe, Lucie Prochazkova, Veronika Těhníková, Barbora Weeks Hrušková from Jazykova skola Globis in Czech Republic, Lina Kazarauskaite, Ieva Dudutiene, Darius Dudutis from Baltic Institute of Technology in Lithuania, Filip Holeš from Základní škola a Mateřská škola Píšť, příspěvková organizace in Czech Republic, Sandra Ramelienė , Inga Balčikonė, Gintarė Širvinskienė from Vilnius “Atgajos” special school in Lithuania.

Throughout this course, educators dove headfirst into the world of modern edtech, discovering how to seamlessly blend cutting-edge digital tools into their day-to-day teaching strategies.

The journey began with an exploration of user-friendly AI tools designed to generate captivating images, videos, and podcasts. Participants saw firsthand how these multimedia resources can revolutionize lesson design—whether used to spark interest in a new topic, review past material, or empower students to create their own original projects. Video content, in particular, stood out as an invaluable asset for hooking students’ attention and igniting classroom energy.

To adapt to the modern rise of hybrid and virtual learning environments, the training also focused on interactive online platforms. Educators experimented with digital whiteboards, learning how to transform remote and hybrid spaces into dynamic, collaborative hubs where students can brainstorm and solve problems together in real time.

Putting theory into practice, participants engaged in a series of hands-on digital workshops. They built interactive online quizzes, created Padlet boards for collective discussions, and mastered design tools for eye-catching graphics, posters, and collages. Each assignment yielded ready-to-use learning materials that teachers could immediately bring back to their own classrooms.

Beyond the technical skills, the course provided a valuable space for cross-cultural collaboration, idea-sharing, and peer reflection. By the time the program concluded, participants walked away with a robust framework for interactive learning and a versatile digital toolkit. Armed with these strategies, they are ready to elevate student engagement, boost creativity, and transform the learning experience into something truly dynamic and enjoyable.
