Modern life frequently brings stress and high-pressure scenarios that affect both our personal and professional well-being. Through a blend of hands-on exercises and core theory, this course equipped participants with essential techniques to manage tension, resolve conflicts, and thrive under pressure.
The new edition of the course “Stress and Conflict Management: the way to resilience and satisfaction” took place in Athens from 23/08/26 till 29/08/26. The participants came from all across Europe: Elīna Tapiņa, Nansija Čaure, Egita Sideļska from Nicas highschool in Latvia and Tobias Mai, Adam Hagenmüller from BBS II Stade in Germany.
The course opened with collaborative group discussions defining stress and identifying its physical, environmental, personal, and professional causes. Participants learned to distinguish between negative stress (distress) and positive stress (eustress), recognizing how mild pressure can motivate performance and goal achievement.
Subsequent modules introduced cognitive and behavioral strategies to manage workplace tension. Group activities strengthened planning and time management skills, while practical exercises in breathing, muscle relaxation, and visualization provided immediate stress-relief techniques.
Participants also explored empathy as an essential conflict-resolution skill, learning to formulate empathetic responses even without direct shared experience. This was paired with an analysis of communication styles, culminating in a group scenario where members worked together to resolve a dispute—highlighting how conflict can spark growth in both workplace and educational settings.
The final topic focused on mindfulness, highlighting how non-judgmental awareness improves focus and emotional regulation. Hands-on meditation and sensory exercises helped attendees build greater presence.
Enriched by the group’s diverse cultural backgrounds, the experience fostered meaningful cross-cultural learning, equipping participants with effective stress-management tools and a positive approach to conflict.
