Sometimes it is difficult to keep the classroom <\/span>motivated, engaged and enthusiastic <\/span>when it comes to teaching. This is when <\/span>ICT tools such as apps and web platforms<\/span> have a crucial role in helping teachers to communicate and spread knowledge while also keeping their students\u2019 attention. Nowadays it is fundamental to <\/span>integrate web tools and new technologies into the classroom<\/span> for a more interactive learning, so that we can offer <\/span>unique opportunities to engage students, enhance collaboration, and personalize the learning experience.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

The new edition of the course \u201c<\/span>Integrating ICT and new technologies into teaching and education<\/span>\u201d took place in Palermo from 15\/10\/2023 to 21\/10\/2023. The participants came from all across Europe, with Vaiva, Irma and Monika from <\/span>Radviliskis Vincas Kudirka progymnasium <\/span>in Lithuania, Helen and Sandra from <\/span>Karlskrona Vuxenutbildning<\/span> in Sweden, Fanni, Andr\u00e0s, Bal\u00e0zs, P\u00e9ter and Zsuzsa from <\/span>Debreceni SZC<\/span> <\/span>Mechwart Andr\u00e1s G\u00e9pipari \u00e9s Informatikai Technikum <\/span>and <\/span>Debreceni Szakk\u00e9pz\u00e9si Centrum <\/span>in Hungary and Jelena from <\/span>Bildungsforum Lernwelten <\/span>in Germany.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/h2>\n

Throughout this<\/span> course participants learnt how to use a <\/span>variety<\/span> of technological tools and to put them into use by integrating it into their teaching methodologies. First of all, they had a look at the simplest and easiest <\/span>tools to edit pictures and videos<\/span> which are very effective for teaching. Indeed, these tools can be used for many tasks: preparing multimedia content, creating educational games, introducing a new subject or <\/span>summarizing previous ones<\/span>, challenging the students\u2019 to create their own work to develop their creativity. For this reason, we concretely noticed that we can include <\/span>formative assessment tools <\/span>into teaching and learning. <\/span>In addition, participants also learnt how to <\/span>create a website<\/span> following a few easy steps, so that they could apply these skills adapting to their schools or needs. <\/span><\/span>\u200b<\/div>\n

During the last years, traditional education had to leave space for virtual<\/span> lessons and online classes.<\/span> Thus, in this course we also explored the useful applications for holding an online class such as a <\/span>virtual whiteboard<\/span> that can create engaging and captivating online lessons and also collaborative learning experiences.<\/span> <\/span>Moreover, the participants had the chance to dive into the technological world with plenty of <\/span>practical activities<\/span> such as presentations, virtual quizzes, learning how to create engaging social media content, using tools dedicated to organizing graphics, posters and collages and much more.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/div>\n
This course allowed participants to confront themselves with each other and <\/span>draw upon their collective experiences<\/span>. They left this course with a new knowledge of <\/span>interactive learning<\/span> and a new set of innovative tools, ready to apply them in their classrooms. This approach will surely increase the students\u2019 creativity, engagement, attention and motivation and help transform learning into a fun and dynamic activity!\u00a0<\/span><\/span>
